Start with a conversation

Before your first workout, discuss your goal, previous experience, available time and equipment. Be open about movements you find difficult and any relevant restrictions. The purpose is to agree on a sensible starting point, rather than copy someone else’s routine.

Prepare your space and camera

Use a phone, tablet or laptop with a reliable connection. Place the device on a stable surface, with enough distance for your coach to see your full body during the planned movements. Check the sound and lighting before joining. Keep your exercise area clear of loose items and interruptions.

A camera view has limits. Tell the coach if a movement feels uncomfortable or if you cannot clearly see a demonstration. Remote feedback works best when you communicate as well as follow along.

Join a live, guided session

Your coach explains the session, demonstrates exercises and guides you through the planned routine. You can ask questions and receive technique feedback. Exercise variations can be used when a movement or piece of equipment does not suit your current ability.

The value of a live session is the conversation: you can pause, clarify an instruction and explain how an exercise feels. You do not need to get everything right on your first day.

Review what is working

After training, share what felt manageable and what needs adjusting. Regular reviews can cover attendance, confidence, exercise progress and the routine you are building. Depending on the coaching plan, practical nutrition guidance and check-ins support the work between sessions.

Who might find this format useful?

Online coaching can suit people who want to avoid gym travel, train at home or receive live guidance while building a routine. It depends on having a suitable space, a workable camera setup and session times you can attend.

If a fixed group routine appeals to you, read our comparison of group classes and one-to-one coaching. For setup ideas, see what equipment you need at home.

Try the format before choosing a plan

A free SchedulFit demo lets you meet the coach, check your setup and discuss whether live Zoom coaching fits your needs. Confirm the current session schedule and inclusions before enrolling.
